2 Electronic Gadgets Famous to Teens

I know from experience that my teen wants every electronic gadget that is out there. There are so many to chose from and they are so similar even. There are just different makers and they look slightly different. One popular gadget is the iPod, this being popular with teens, adults, children, everyone. My daughter has been begging for one of these, this also being one of the more expensive gadgets to buy and the one that I would be most upset about if she lost! The iPod being great though because of the capability to load tons of music onto it and take it everywhere. But again, the easiest one to be lost or stolen.

Another gadget that teens want are cell phones, I’ve already given in and bought one for my daughter. She now wants one that takes pictures and has Internet capabilities. I have not gone that far yet, however having a cell phone is the ideal teen item. All teens want one and so many already have one even. The pricing plans vary and my daughter so far has stayed within her minutes. We added her to our family talk plan, so the increased cost wasn’t too much, compared to getting a completely separate line. The phone a lot of times can be received for free through your cell phone provider to further cut the cost of getting your teen a cell phone. All teens want and I think parents too, is the Nintendo DS and the Game-boy Advance.

My daughter has both of these, every teen wants one of these because they are able to link the games up to other users and then text message back and forth and play games together. Also, Nintendo Dogs and Nintendo Cats is still the most popular games out there for these hand held, portable game systems. Teens want these because if they don’t have a cell phone or can not use one at school they can use these to text message, draw pictures to one another, and play the games against each other. These are small, but expensive and so are the games.

But the graphics are really good and the cases come in different colors and there are lots of accessories to go with the game systems. lastly, teens definitely want the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, or the X-Box. The systems are much more expensive, even more so than a cell phone. But, they can play DVDs on all three, so if you do not have a DVD player you could always use one of these game systems as one. Every teen wants these, especially the Wii, because of the inter-activeness of the system and the very cool games that offered.

ZHANG: Moving on to Japan, where over 800 companies got to showcase their latest high-tech electronics, gadgets, and robots at an annual show in Tokyo. Let’s take a look at what’s turning heads. STORY: One of the most popular attractions is a robot named “Murata Girl, which is capable of riding a bicycle and a unicycle. With several positioning, motion, and shock control sensors attached to its body, the robot is capable of detecting obstacles while balancing on its own. [Shigeki Fukunaga, Robot Engineer]: “Technology and idea-wise it’s simple because we just had to program the robot to balance back and forth instead sideways like we did with the bicycle-riding robot.” Fukunaga says his company, Murata Manufacturing, hopes to implement the robot’s technology into various electronics and vehicles in the future. They are looking to create a bicycle that never falls down and automobiles that can avoid accidents. Nissan Motors introduced their “Biomimetic Robot 23 Car,” which carries various obstacle-detection and prevention sensors. [Toshiyuki Ando, Nissan Motors]: “Once it detects an obstacle, it automatically avoids it according to its speed, direction and distance, which is something we’ve adapted from bee’s behaviors.” Pioneer, the manufacturer of car stereos, plasma televisions and home theatre systems, also received a lot of attention. Their three-dimensional display called the “3D Floating Vision” is capable of reflecting all kinds of floating images that can be seen …

or if you want to stay away from the gadget side of things you could get him tickets to his favourite team or show?
Or use google and see if theres any gadget shows coming up. if that makes sense?
lol, hope i helped

@willouboy A big YOU’RE WELCOME to you willouboy.

For all electronic gadgets and computer stuff, you can try Funan shopping centre (located near City Hall MRT station) for quality goods or Sim Lim Square (located between Little India or bugis MRT station) for bargain stuff.

One trick is to really know your stuff well before going to these 2 places if not you will be ended up as a carrot (deliciously chop and strew) and always ask for a discount especially in Sim Lim Square.

You might want to consider comparing a few shops before deciding on your purchases -the prices of the shops might vary a lot so going to one shop might be expensive while another might be cheap.

Also know what is in the package of the gadget so the black shop there won't be selling you "spare" parts that is suppose to be in the package.

I worked there (Sim Lim Sq) for 1 weekend and I can tell you some salesman (for their own commission) are willing to sell very expensive to foreigners who don't talk for discount.

@papadop BIG THANK YOU FOR YOU !!!!!!!!!!! :-D

This is great! I guess the robot thing didn’t really catch on back then though.
Well, looks like we finally might start seeing robots in homes in this new decade.

@JJ9715 yes they were.

@JJ9715 CD players were not even around in 83

@willouboy The song is “That’s Me” by Abba.

your best bet is probably a pawn shop.

You should try looking at eBay.com they sell everything there.

There's always an ipod or game system like a psp or ds. If you already have those things, you could try one of the new netbooks. They're extremely portable and run as low as $300. With tax or shipping it would work out to about $350.

Camcorders cost around that much. If you're not afraid of building something, you can build a MAME system or even an HDTV for that price. (HDTV projector made of plywood and a monitor plans are on the internet.)

Everything looks so clumsy…

You are on the right track they use a higher voltage and a very different plug layout than what we use in North America. Just be certain that your adapter is of high quality the cheaper ones can damage your precious electronics.

dam i cant believe they had robots back then.how come we cant buy robots so easly if they have been for a long time.
