Eliminating as many programs as possible will make your computer faster than ever.
Use the disk defragmenter. I advise people to run a disk defrag once a month. How often do you run one? What the disk defragmenter does is quickens your computers access to data. Many files are fragmented and need to be compiled into neat sections. The disk defragger will make your computer run faster when accessing and running different programs.
Clean up Windows registry. The Windows registry is one of the most complicated, important, and least understood areas of our computer. The registry contains the information to run every single piece of software and hardware in our computers. And more often than not, the directory is a complete mess. I don’t think games will ever be like this again, this was one of the best moments in human history. IMO the best possible life would be to play the original everquest by myself for a few years and get all the characters and items i want, then slowly have people join me for hard kills and raids. But it would have to be people who were not familiar with games like maybe prisoners, and I would teach them to survive in the new world and we’d go on adventures everyday. Then MAYBE add some expansions

If your virus/spyware free, there are a couple things you can do get your computer working faster. If you using your computer for normal stuff and not gaming. You don't always need more RAM you just need to perform a few maintenance task.
First, if you haven't cleaned your registry in a while. This is necessary. 2. Clear your Windows cache files, this is your temporary file. It can grow up to a large volume and stop your computer from using RAM properly. In a sense slow it down by preventing it from using free space.Here is how:
