Have you always dreamed of running your own business, being your own boss, setting your own schedule? If so, then perhaps your dreams have been stifled by the lack of funding to get started. If you have a good business idea, then the government is willing to help out with www.fastguaranteedloans.com/government-grant-free-federal-money.html”>government grants for new businesses.

Free Government Grant Money

For many years, the United States government has set aside money for various grants for individuals who are looking to start their own business. This government grant money is free money that does not have to be repaid to the government. There are different types of government grants for different purposes and business models. There are also specific government grants to help specific demographics of the population realize their dream of business ownership, such as government grants specifically for women, African Americans, disabled individuals, or those of certain ages.

There are government grants that are meant to target economically depressed areas of the country, as well as government grants that focus on starting businesses in areas where there is widespread joblessness. That said, if you have a business idea that the government feels can benefit your local community or add jobs to job force, there is a great chance that there is a government grant waiting out there for you to claim in order to get started.

Applying For Your Government Grant

The most effective government grant applications are carefully planned and are presented alongside a professional business plan. Professionalism is important throughout the entire government grant process, as the government sees the manner that you handle your grant application as indicative of how you will handle your business. Be sure to follow all requirements that are outlined in your government grant package, and do not omit any information that is requested. Proofread and go over your government grant application a couple of times before submission to notice any errors that might deflect from the presentation of your government grant application.

Budgeting For Your Government Grant

You may also be asked to submit a budget with your government grant application, which shows how you plan to use the money if it is granted to you. Be sure to use conservative estimates but to be sure to ask for enough to cover the costs you may have. Factor in such items as renting or leasing the premises that will house your business, purchasing or leasing delivery vans or other vehicles and equipment that will be required by your business, purchasing inventory, hiring staff, and other costs that you will have. It is also good to allow for a certain amount of money to pay utilities and miscellaneous expenses until your business is up and running.

Assistance Finding Your Government Grant

To find out what government grants are available for your specific needs, you can request a copy of the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance from the U.S. government, or you can view the entire catalog in PDF format on the website www.cfda.gov. Additionally, you can browse through the government grants that you might qualify at the government website www.grants.gov.

Government provide grants if there is a viable business. 80% of business disappear in 5 years. A viable business takes ideas, hardwork and lots of luck.

Start out small. Work your way up. My friend's dad makes trophies from his house. The parts are cheap: just plastic tubes, bases, metal rods, and nuts. The only tools you need is a circular saw to cut the tubes and a ratchet to tighten the nuts at the bottom. It is a good start. My dad was thinking about a deli van that goes to businesses during their lunch hour and then makes the sandwiches there in the van. No rent. The van is the store. Beats the heck out of the icecream man! Be creative.

It is hard to find grants to start a business. Unlike the myths that some perpetuate, federal government and even private foundations hardly give grant money for starting a for-profit business.

One possible exception is for companies developing or exporting agricultural goods, including food and forest product. Another exception could be the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs http://www.sba.gov/aboutsba/sbaprograms/sbir/index.html , which fund the research and development of technological innovation that meets specific government needs.

Your best bet actually will be from the states if they offer grant programs for women (or any other special interest groups — minorities, women, disabled, veterans, etc). Or check with non profit organizations, particularly women organizations if they offer grants. Examples include

Iowa Women's Foundation http://www.iawf.org/
New Mexico Women's Foundation http://www.nmwf.org/guidelines.html

Even SBA does NOT give out grants. From the SBA website http://www.sba.gov/mostrequesteditems/CON_FAQ2.html

"The U.S. Small Business Administration does not offer grants to start or expand small businesses, although it does offer a wide variety of loan programs. (See http://www.sba.gov/financing for more information) While SBA does offer some grant programs, these are generally designed to expand and enhance organizations that provide small business management, technical, or financial assistance. These grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments."

Nonetheless, you can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov – these are two sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support a for-profit venture.

Here is a listing of federal grants for small businesses. See if there is any available for individuals for starting a business — THERE'S NONE.

Most of the federal grants are given to specific target groups with specific requirements (e.g. minority business owners involved in transportation related contracts emanating from DOT – Grant#20.905 Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Short Term Lending Program

Grants are also often given to non profit groups or organizations involved in training or other similar activities (grant 59.043 Women's Business Ownership Assistance that are given to those who will create women's business center that will train women entrepreneurs

luckily I know how to farm stealthily, when times were good I learned myself how to grow weed, at least now I can grow food. I already got my non gmo heirloom seeds. I wish I brought more , it seems it’s really gonna happen. we might even have a civil war. oh boy, wow , it looks like it’s reallly gona happen. think I’ll build a still on the hill as well.

Why do you think Thomas Jefferson said he favored an Economy based on Agriculture that stressed individual freedom?

farming

correct.

Absolutely not. If we can get the regulation in place to prevent the "Too big to fail" senerio, then we should do that pronto. More competition lowers prices, benefits consumers, and improves products. Large monopolies, earned or not, do not benefit anyone except the very top of said business.

@Tasadaru All banks. We need not banks but currencies that don’t fail and can’t be manipulated. We also need FREE water and enegy.

George Soros thinks it’s funny that america is going down. What a prick.

I don't know a lot about this subject but I feel to caution you.Be careful of those who want money up front.

There is a video here on youtube with Jim Roger and Marc Faber in 2005 where they are talking about the future. In that vid Jim said the dollar was going to devalue and that the US economy wasnt real

good ol’ sharecropping

depending on the type of bussiness you are going into i would say you need some capital. I started a small construction company, and the only capital i needed was for insurance and licenses. The reason I did'nt need a lot of capital was that i did labor bibs only and required a payment every friday. If the customer wanted me to pick up material then they would give me cash or a check which i kept in my bussiness acct. and at the end i would turn over bills and balance if any.

talk to you accountant. I ask mine questions like that all the time and they usually know. if no then look up the department that you register you business in and call them.

Even if you buy books on "how to get grants" or list that supposedly has information on grants — all of them are mere rehash of what CFDA has, albeit packaged differently. But still the info is the same – hardly any grants for starting a for profit business.

CFDA has information on housing grants — see if you can qualify http://12.46.245.173/pls/portal30/CATALOG.FUNCTIONAL_AREA_RPT2.SHOW?p_arg_names=func_cat_cd&p_arg_values=M

Ron Paul predicted it years ago also. He seems right about limited government and gold backed currencies.
