When you are running your own business, you may have a lot of your personal life and your business life tangled. This is very natural for those who are running a small independent business. You may share your personal home with your business, having turned one room into an office. You may share your personal vehicle with your business, using it to go on calls or make deliveries. But this sharing should stop when it comes time to deal with the money of your business.
Many people make the mistake of using their personal credit cards for their business purchases as well. Instead, it is much wiser to use business credit cards for all your company purchases.
Professional Look
First things first. If you want to be taken seriously as a business, you know appearances are everything. You likely have business cards, stationary and all the other appropriate items with your business name and logo on them. But, when you go to work with vendors and purchase items, you are doing it with your personal name on a credit card. The same is true if you are taking a few clients out for dinner. Instead it is best to have a business credit card with your business name on it, which gives off more of a professional appearance.
User Flexibility
If you do happen to have an employee or two working for your business, giving them your personal credit card to make a few purchases is just not wise. While you may think you can trust them, it just takes one angry employee to ruin your personal credit life. Instead, you should have business credit cards. With business credit cards you will be able to add users to the account, and remove them as necessary. You will also be able to limit or restrict the spending of each individual employee to suit your buying needs.
Record Keeping
Another great benefit of business credit cards is that they make it a lot easier to do your record keeping at the end of the month. Instead of having to sort through all the things on your personal card statement and try to figure out what was a business expense and what wasn’t, you will get one statement that has all your business expenditures, ready to file.
Rewards
The final great reason to have small business credit cards is that you can cash in on the money you have to spend. If you choose rewards credit cards as your business credit cards you can add up points quickly towards free travel or even cash back.

Here’s the Ustream.tv recording that I did of the Facebook F8 Press Conference from the front row. This includes about 20 minutes of interviews with journalists in the room first, then the press conference.
Help answer the question about businesses
How could two business owners get married & protect their respective businesses? My boyfriend and I are talking about getting married. We both own businesses and are afraid that if we get married, and something were to happen at one of our businesses, if we were to get sued we could lose them both. We live in CA which is a 50/50 state- is there anything we can do to protect our assets going into the marriage?
Well if something were to happen and I were to be sued, I assume his business would be at risk as well?

Personally I did not like Chase, paid off the card, cancelled the account and cut the card up.
My advice to you is to look for a card that you can earn miles on airlines with. As long as your going to be spending for your business, you might as well benefit from the situation as well.
Well speaking as one who understands credit but not considered a Professional (all that takes is a fee of $350 and an online course to get certified) I can tell you this.
No matter what, your credit is yours and his is his
Combining checking accounts will do nothing for either one of you as they are not reported to the CRA's. Neither are savings accounts.
Adding him as an authorized user will really do nothing for his score, but could damage yours if he runs up your balance above the 30% threshold (also known as debt utilization ratio).
He is going to have to build his credit on his own. You can read more about credit and how it works to better understand it at the following source:

lawnbusiness- Thank you so much. This little 1 or 2 minutes has inspired me so much.
dude i charge 10$ a lawn 4 lawns a day and for 90 days i made 3,600$ in cash and im only 12
lol im gonna do that this summer, and ive got the same motivation as you. Beat out the mexicans! not to be racist.
Credit cards should be your last choice. The interest rates are oppressive and if your even a couple of days late they will attack your credit rating.
I don't know your situation, but a home equity line or a formal loan from a family member would be much better.
As a last resort someone like CIT financial would be a better choice than credit cards.
unpaid child support
This definitely sounds like a scam… but not necessarily for the reasons you state. First, anytime someone tries to show you how much money you can make, why aren't THEY doing it themselves? Second, if this truly IS legit, they will have no problem showing you business licenses and such. Finally, all of these "objects" (Rolex watches, cars, etc.) could simply be leased or even stolen.
Here's what you do …. tell them your uncle or someone is very interested in joining as well. They will probably want to have you invite them to a meeting… THEN say something like, "He's a detective with the police department, and gets off work at______." THEN see what they do. If they change their tune to discourage you into bringing him, you'll KNOW waht the score is!
im fifteen and i charge 15 to 20 dollars per cut. I now own a truck, double axle trailer, a ariens 21 inch mower, a bob-cat walk behind, and a few echo trimmers and blowers. Im starting from the ground up and doing real well
any problem with mexicans bitch?
me and my bro made flyers today, were gunna start a lawn buisness…try and beat out the mexicans
I will suggest you try Yahoo Merchant accounts or prostores. These are the cheapest ones i have come across. Prostores allows you to integrate quick books. They both have basic templates that can easily help you setup an online account where you can customize. As per accepting credit cards; the cheapest one will be to setup the basic paypal account and add it your store; otherwise you will have to setup your own Credit card Merchant account which requires monthly payments and possibly other fees.
I hope this helps. Check out my ecommerce website that was built by using Yahoo merchant accounts.
1) Take everything out of your closet & sort it. i.e. all suits together, all short sleeve blouses together, all sweaters, all blazers, all belts, all scarves, sort shoes & purses by color, etc.
2) Remove items you don't wear, don't like, etc. Consider selling them through a consignment store, trading them w/ someone else, or donating them.
3) Look at the remaining items & think about what are your favorite basics. Then think about different ways to wear them & accessorize them. Ask a friend to help you develop mix & match ideas. The goal is to make the most of what you have now so you don't feel compelled to buy something new every pay period.
4) Think about what you would like to add to your wardrobe & make a list. Then prioritize the items in a way that makes sense for you. e.g. by need, by cost, by season, etc.
5) Think about your cash flow. Maybe instead of buying something every pay period you can buy one item a month or every 2 months with CASH or that you can pay on your card immediately.
Decide how much you can afford to pay on your credit card out of EACH paycheck. W/ online banking – it is easy to make early payments. This will reduce the amount of principle sooner thereby saving interest payments. It also will help you chip away at this debt steadily.
6) Let friends & family know gift cards for clothing stores would be appreciated at the holidays if you are comfortable w/ doing so.
7) Consider shopping @ thrift stores & consignment shops. Figure out where the best neighborhoods are & shops in them or closest to them. I have two friends in S.F., CA who find incredible deals on excellent quality coats, suits, etc.
http://www.landsendcom.com – check overstock section for sales
http://www.bluefly.com – designer goods marked down; sign up for e-mail notices for special sales, offers, etc.
http://www.bluenile.com – quality jewelry @ fair prices
10) Save on shirts, knit tops, trendy accessories.
e.g. http://www.oldnavy.com has a "Wear to Work" section & you can find shirts, accessories to blend w/ your suits, etc.
11) Find a good tailor or seamstress. Sometimes adjusting the fit of a garment can update it and make it look more flattering.

13) Avoid items that need dry cleaning as much as possible. (i.e. get cotton shirts & sweaters that can be hand washed) Consider using a DIY cleaning kit like Dryell.
14) Research local outlets & consider visiting them every 2 months armed w/ your list & wardrobe plan. DO not let yourself buy anything that isn't on your list or isn't appropriate for work. Stick to your list & your plan. Shop w/ a friend who has good taste & is a disciplined spender too.
